The City Council is set to pass a law requiring motorcycles to maintain an 80-decibel (or less) limit and thus reduce city noise. A first conviction will carry a hefty $1,000 fine and temporary confiscation of the bike (i.e., until the fine is paid). A second conviction will result in a $2,500 fine and permanent confiscation.
