Britney Spears was charged with driving without a valid California license in 2007 when she got in a minor accident.  Her traffic attorney argued that her Louisiana license was sufficient even though she lives in California.  Her jury dead-locked and, the prosecution will not be pursuing this case further.  Note:  Unlike California, in New York, there no real defense to an un-licensed ticket (unless of course you were not the person to receive the ticket).  New York judges simply check whether you had one (or not), and that is usually the sole issue.  Since this is an open and shut situation, you don't see many un-licensed trials in New York (let alone hung juries).
