The Tri-State Transportation Campaign recently revealed the most treacherous places for New York pedestrians. The most fatalities during the subject period occurred on Hempstead Turnpike in Nassau County followed by Sunrise Highway in Suffolk County. In New York City, the most dangerous streets are Grand Central Parkway in Queens, Hylan Boulevard in Staten Island, Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn, Third Avenue and Broadway in Manhattan. Can stricter enforcement of motorists who failed to yield the right of way be far off?
