The New York State Senate approved legislation which calls for the installation of 50 red light cameras at high-risk intersections in Nassau County. Ostensibly, the law is to reduce accidents and promote traffic safety, but the $50 per ticket revenue-raising feature cannot be overlooked. The only good news is that red light camera tickets carry 0 points and do not affect auto insurance rates.
