Strict Enforcement Of Seat Belt Law Coming For Thanksgiving WeekendHome » Ticket Resources » Traffic News

Police throughout New York State will be conducting a zero-tolerance seat belt enforcement blitz through November 29, 2009. The blitz is part of the ongoing Click It Or Ticket campaign in New York. Adult seat belt tickets carry no points but do involve roughly a $200 fine and surcharge. Of course, if you are stopped for a seat belt violation, the officer is likely to look for a basis to issue you other moving violations. Common "add-on" tickets include unlicensed, unregistered, uninspected and faulty equipment. Even more serious "add-on" charges are aggravated unlicensed and driving while intoxicated. Readers can easily avoid being stopped by wearing their seat belts. Happy Holidays to all.
