      Mary Ann E Fallon,

Questions about citations should be directed to the Suffolk County Red Light Safety Program, 866-637-0008 from the hours of 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, except holidays.

      Good luck!

This is one big money swindle…..how about going after the speeders, or the guys who ride my bumper when there is no way I can move to the right lane….what a pathetic way to make a great deal of $$$$$!!

  • What happens if I just ignore red light camera ticket and don’t pay? It says default judgement will be issued because I haven’t responded. What does that mean?

      Lynn,

A default means that you will be found guilty even though you failed to answer. These judgments can negatively impact your credit rating and be enforced. Further, the court may be able to use the failure to pay as a basis to suspend or revoke your license.

Your red light safety program for suffolk county ny is a big and easy way to get money from people. You are collecting good amounts of money for not much at all. No sense in arguing, there is no winning. I resent the spying done on people, then demanding 80.00 or more from them.

You can put a black mark on my name, because i called the program a scam. I don’t care.
    Thank you

      Carol Anne Gabrielsen,

It is “my” program. We have nothing to do with it (other than reporting about it).

  • I just received a red light ticket in the mail with a late fee attached to it. I called to inquire why this is the first I’ve received and it already has a late fee. They claim they sent one back in July. When I explained I never received it and said I’d gladly pay the ticket fee, they told me I’m forced to pay the late fee and if I don’t, I should seek legal counsel. If the rules are so strict, shouldn’t they be sending these fines certified mail. I’m at a loss as to what to do. Am I now going to have to just pay the fine plus the $25 late fee. I should mention I NEVER pay anything late and have a perfect credit rating above 800.

Matt I was approaching a red light intersection on ocean ave going north and the light turned yellow I was afraid I wouldn’t make it and stop and then it turned red. But I was over the line. Will I get a ticket. Thanks so much for your help. Mindy

  • I don’t know, why I have to pay $80.00 for a red light. I turned on the red light because sign said right must turn right if you see in the picture I’m behind the white line and I waiting it, I didn’t see any car passing by. I lived a block away that has the sign, so I guess everybody are making the same mistake. I try to see the video, I don’t know how to do it.

Are warning signs required? If so, what are the requirements in Suffolk County. I came off the parkway at CR 17, Carleton Avenue @ NY27A, Montauk Highway, southbound and received a citation 3 days later including a $30 Administrative Fee. Is the Administrative Fee legal?

    • Francene Barrett,

While there should be a red light camera sign in the area, I do not think you’ll win on this argument. With that said, if you make it, plead let us know what happens.
